This creates a superior solution, resulting in a near locking PDU setup, without the expensive price tag. In the absence of having secure sleeves installed, overtime IEC connections can jiggle loose, causing partial or full disconnection from critical network services.

IEC 60320 Secure Male and Female Tension Over Mould Sleeves
The male over mould sleeve is used for both C14 and C20 plugs. This durable plastic insert pushes over the cable plug, before plugging in to the power source. Once inserted you’ll see the lip of the secure sleeve and its extraction tabs which provides that visual identification for identifying different power paths when using a variety of colours. In the event of the required removal, all you need to do is pull the cable much harder than normal, as no specific tools are needed.
Category 6A Short Length RJ45 Patch Cables – 26AWG F/STP LS0H Snagless RJ45 Boot
The Cat6a 10Gigabit-BaseT short length is available as a 20cm option. They’re manufactured using a S/FTP shielded construction, coupled with a LS0H cable jacket and 50µm gold connectors. The RJ45 ends have flush moulded snagless boots and as expected, certified to 500Mhz to meet global Cat6a standards.A female over mould works in the same way and is designed to cover the C13, C15 and C19 connector types. It is important to note that when removing the power cable from a piece of active equipment, you should take care not to damage the inlet. Also always ensure that the power source is turned off and any tools used should be nonconductive.

Tolerances of IEC 320 inlets, plugs and connectors are wide, meaning the stability of a connection can be inadvertently separated with IEC cables, often seen as the weakest final link in the power chain. These secure tension sleeves are compatible with most connector designs including the stocked IEC power cable range from Patch Solutions, as well as Yung Li or Stayonline branded cables. It’s advisable to request a free sample so that you can try the solution first, ensuring a snug fit on to the connector/plug and testing with the equipment inlet before a larger project rollout.
